Emily Ehrlich, Education Programs Manager

Emily holds Bachelor and Master’s degrees in English, as well as a Master’s degrees in teaching and in Education Leadership with an Administrative Certificate.  Emily has been with Hands On for two years, and her teaching experience includes elementary, middle and high school as well as college level courses at both Western Washington University and University of Washington.

Ben Michaelis, Young Explorers Lead Teacher

Ben Michaelis has been with the museum since 2012. The leader of our field trip program, Ben also oversees our offsite events and partner programs. Ben originated our Pre-K music camps here at the museum, and you may also recognize Ben as Dr. Science! Ben holds a BA in Performance Studies and is an active musician and actor in our community.

Natasha Ivanichek, Pre-K Lead Teacher 

Natasha holds degrees in Ecology and Geography, and has been with Hands On for 6 years. This year, Natasha will lead our Pre-Kindergarten class. She is also a lead camp teacher here at the museum and is a gifted artist and photographer.

Allie Deaton, Young Explorers Assistant Teacher

Allie has an AA degree in Intercultural Communications and has studied Spanish, Latin American Studies, and Youth Education at The Evergreen State College. Allie is fluent in Spanish and American Sign Language and has worked in our preschool program for one year. Allie will be assisting in Young Explorers this year.

Ashley Bench, Pre-K Assistant Teacher

Ashley has an AA degree in Early Childhood Education and worked as a preschool teacher for many years before joining the Front Desk team here at Hands On. We are happy to welcome Ashley to our preschool team! She will be assisting in the Pre-K class.

Madison Peters

Madison has been with the HOCM family for almost a year. In her time at the museum, she has taken on many roles and is excited to be leading fall camps. Prior to working at the HOCM, she spent her time working with various nonprofits in Education and Outreach. Madison has a degree in Environmental Science and Management, and an Associates in Studio Art. She has a strong passion for the arts and sciences and loves being able to help people mix the two. In her spare time, Madison enjoys gardening and kayaking.
