Ben Michaelis
Camp Teacher
Ben Michaelis has been with the museum since 2012. The leader of our field trip program, Ben also oversees our offsite events and partner programs. Ben originated our Pre-K music camps here at the museum, and you may also recognize Ben as Dr. Science! Ben holds a BA in Performance Studies and is an active musician and actor in our community.

Natasha Ivanichek
Camp Teacher
Natasha holds degrees in Ecology and Geography and has been with Hands On since 2013. Natasha leads our morning Pre-K class and many camps and, as a gifted artist and photographer, she infuses the curriculum with creativity.

Allie Deaton

Allie has an AA degree in Intercultural Communications and has studied Spanish, Latin American Studies, and Youth Education at The Evergreen State College. Allie is fluent in Spanish and American Sign Language. She has volunteered with the museum since 2010 and officially joined the staff in 2018.

Ashley has an AA degree in Early Childhood Education and worked as a preschool teacher for many years before joining the team here at Hands On in 2019. Ashley brings a strong knowledge of child development to our program.
Jacque Emord-Netzley

Camp Teacher
Jacque holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Theatre & Drama and has recently relocated to the West Coast from New York City. She has experience in performance, child care, and early childhood education. Before moving to Washington, she spent 5 years as a teaching artist in the WEE Arts Studio at the Children’s Museum of the Arts in Manhattan.

Madison Peters
Camp Teacher
Madison has a degree in Environmental Science and Management, and an Associates in Studio Art. She joined Hands On in 2020. In her time here, she has taken on many roles including a lead camp teacher. Before working at the Museum she spent her time working with various non-profits in education and outreach. In her spare time, Madison enjoys gardening and kayaking.

Nikki is a naturalist and environmental educator who earned a BA in Environmental Ethics and a Masters in Environmental Education before joining the museum in 2020. Nikki is committed to inquiry-based education and in fostering children’s innate curiosity about the world around them.

Teacher Kitty is a former HOCM Preschool, Camp & PlayWise instructor. She has a knack for connecting JOY with play-based learning. With 20+ years in the field of Early Learning, Kitty's passions lie in exploring cultures, cooking, and nature, so you might expect tales of adventure from your camper!
Payton Ervine

Payton is graduating with an AA this Spring from South Puget Sound Community College, with hopes of continuing his education to become a Pediatric Speech Therapist. Payton has been a member of the museum’s Gallery Services team since 2018 and is ready to bring his energy to a new corner of the museum!
Elisabeth Manuputty
Elisabeth Manuputty
Camp Teacher
Elisabeth has a BA in Ethnomusicology and worked as a music teacher for elementary and preschool teacher for many years in Indonesia. She is an active dancer in Olympia Swing and Salsa community, and teaches an Indonesian children’s choir online.
