Guitar for Grownups

Be a rock star to your child! Imagine the joy of watching your child dance, sing, and laugh, while you play guitar!

Guitar for Grownups is an eight-week group class for adults to learn guitar in a fun and easy way. This class is a special opportunity for grownups (parents, caregivers, or even teenage siblings) in families currently enrolled in our Mixed Ages classes. It will be offered each session to go along with the song collection we're working with in the children's classes. It's for beginners and those who already know a little guitar.
This guitar class for adults gives you a new way to make music with your child at home. Build your skills in an organic, relaxed way and enjoy an evening out with other parents of small children. Participants receive a workbook and bring their own guitar, capo and tuner. If you want to learn to play the Music Together songs your child loves and the basics for strumming and playing guitar, this is the class for you.

It's taught by Ben Kapp, an accomplished guitarist with a Master degree in Music Composition, who is also a registered Music Together teacher. Learn more about Ben here.

The class runs 60 minutes each week for 8 weeks. Ben will have you playing Music Together songs in no time!

What is Music Together?

Music Together is an internationally recognized early childhood music and movement program for children from birth through age 5—and the grownups who love them. Music Together classes are based on the recognition that all children are musical. All children can learn to sing in tune, keep a beat and participate with confidence in the music of our culture, provided that their early environment supports such learning. Classes focus on active music making in a relaxed teacher and parent-led environment.

Can we play in the museum after the class?

Yes! Families will be able to stay and play in the museum’s state-of-the-art exhibits after class.

How do we register?

To register, visit www.musictogetherofolympia.com. Space is limited in each class, so sign up now! For more information, contact Jennifer Huntley at musictogetheroly@gmail.com or call (360) 481-9420.
